Carlo di Mario
Carlo di Mario

We take great pleasure in inviting you to the 8th Interventional Cardiology Workshop "New Frontiers in Interventional Cardiology" (NFIC 2007), which will be held in Krakow, POLAND on December 6-9, 2007.

This annual Workshop is organized by the Institute of Cardiology, Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, under the patronage of the Working Group on Cardiovascular Interventions of the Polish Cardiac Society and European Association for Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI) in cooperation with EuroPCR and European Board on Accreditation in Cardiology (EBAC).

Interventional Cardiology Workshop in Krakow is an international scientific meeting focusing on interventional treatment of cardiovascular diseases and stroke, gathering last year more than 1200 Polish and other Central and Eastern European cardiologists and healthcare professionals. This area of cardiology is undergoing very rapid development in our part of Europe. Our goal is to match this development with an intense, educational effort at the highest professional level possible. Our friends in cardiology and industry around the world have been helping us for the last seven years to assemble an impressive faculty list and to provide state-of-the-art lectures, live cases and discussions. The International Scientific Committee has Professors Carlo Di Mario and Giancarlo Biamino as members.

As in the past years, Interventional Cardiology Workshop in Krakow would consist of the accredited by EBAC, full-day Review Course of Interventional Cardiology for Central-Eastern European Countries (December 6, 2007, two-days Workshop with Live Cases (December 7-8. 2007) and one-day Case Review Sessions (December 9, 2007). The main topics for presentation and discussion are networking for optimal treatment of most patients with ACS, appropriate use of adjunctive pharmacotherapy and mechanical protection devices during primary PCI for STEMI, SVG interventions, carotid stenting with cerebral protection, left main stenting with drug eluting stents, complex PCI in difficult patient subsets: diabetes, heart failure, renal failure, diagnosis and management of PCI complications, vulnerable plaque assessment and treatment, percutaneous treatment of multilevel atherosclerosis and structural heart diseases.

The Board of the Directors would be honoured and proud if you join us at the NFIC 2007.
