In this way, the new Tecnic delivery system guarantees optimal performance throughout all stenting techniques, from traditional to the most advanced direct stenting. The original Carbostent™ homogeneous cellular design provides elastic matching and perfect apposition to the vessel wall, with no distortion or strut protrusion. Today with the additional diameters / sizes: 2.25 & 4.50 Tecnic Carbostent offers a complete productline with a dedicated stent for each vessel's size.The use of new technologies for the treatment of the materials, especially for the stainless steel of the stent, also guarantees the possibility to produce a Carbostent having zero elastic recoil after expansion.
Two visible platinum markers at the stent ends, two radiopaque markers on the delivery system and no foreshortening at expansion allow safe, reliable positioning making serial stenting easier.Carbofilm coating acts as an interface between stent and blood, preventing the release of metal ions from the raw material of the stent. Also, it notably increases haemo-compatibility, minimising the risk of clinical complications due to acute or subacute stent thrombosis, and significantly reduces tissue interaction and hyperplasia reaction, and prevents from any metal (e.g.nickel) allergy effects.
