
At the recent BSIR meeting, two prominent interventional radiologists and one vascular surgeon were honoured by the Society for their outstanding contribution to the field.
Firstly, distinguished past President, Professor Andy Adam, St Thomas' Hospital, London, UK, was awarded the Gold Medal for his "single-minded dedication" and involvement in the Society.
Following Adam, Professor Jim Reekers, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, received an Honorary Fellowship from the Society for his distinguished work of many years in interventional radiology. Lastly, Professor Roger Greenhalgh, Charing Cross Hospital, London, UK, also received an Honorary Fellowship of the BSIR, for his outstanding lifetime's work as a multi-disciplinarian. The honours were presented by Derrick Martin, President of the BSIR.
