Royal Philips Electronics has introduced of the Philips Pinnacle3 System 810 and Pinnacle3 Web Publishing, two new radiation oncology product offerings designed to increase workflow and operational efficiency.
The new Pinnacle3 System 810 is custom built for radiation oncology to significantly improve operational efficiency. Approximately three to five times faster than previous platforms, System 810 dramatically increases performance for even the most intensive treatment planning functions. Designed to run with the Pinnacle3 Workstation version 8.0h but also available for earlier Pinnacle3 versions, System 810 began shipping in June 2007.
Expanding the capabilities and offerings of the Pinnacle3 suite even further, Pinnacle3 Web Publishing allows radiation oncology plans to be reviewed and approved from anywhere in the world via a secure Internet connection. A work-in-progress, the innovative software solution provides a secure, paperless, web-based plan publishing system that improves workflow for dosimetrists, physicists and oncologists.
The Philips Pinnacle3 version 8.0h is a powerful and flexible radiation oncology toolbox offering the capabilities needed for the future of adaptive radiation therapy planning. This new offering is compatible with the new System 810 as well as older platforms, and includes the latest enhancements available from Philips Radiation Oncology, including a new bolus feature, new plan-locking feature and physics support for Elekta's Beam Modulator linear accelerator. The software also re-introduces Philips' Syntegra auto-fusion and Model Based Segmentation (MBS).
The Philips-exclusive Tumor Localization (Tumor LOC) application allows radiation oncology departments to efficiently localise target volumes for radiation therapy planning. Previously only available on the Philips Brilliance CT Big Bore console, Tumor LOC is now available on the Extended Brilliance Workspace (EBW) and GEMINI TF PET/CT systems, enhancing workflow efficiency and flexibility in the radiotherapy department.
